Rujak is dedicated to the building of a better, sustainable Jakarta.
It is a space where ideas, actions, questions, know-how’s, challenges and solutions are shared to transform Jakarta into a sustainable metropolis.
We believe that plenty of them there among us.
We believe that every one of us, both individually ang collectively, can do a lot to change the metropolis, if we share them.
Besides some spaces where you can directly upload your contribution to, we would also be very happy to receive your articles, pictures, news, profiles, event announcements, tips and everything else we can share to live better and to make Jakarta a better place sustainably, through our email addresses below. We will upload it into Rujak for you.
Rujak is initiated by a non-partisan, not-for-profit, non-institutionalised group of individuals: Marco Kusumawijaya, Meutia ‘Rani’ Chaerani, Satya Witoelar, Cecil Mariani, Andrea ‘Cak-cak’ Fitrianto, and Armely ‘Mely’ Meiviana, Elisa Sutanudjaja and Marini Widowati.
Rujak in Indonesian means a popular fruit platter eaten with mixed or separate spicy peanut butter sauce. It is also an acronym of RUang-JAKarta, which means Jakarta Space. Or, could it be an acronym of yet something else? If you have any idea, please let us know!
